Richardson's Fish Bar - 156 - 160 Lord Street, Fleetwood

Here at Richardson's

We’re an award winning chippy

we understand how important it is for our customers to know where their food comes from. That is why we have done our research and have chosen local company Fylde Fresh and Fabulous in conjunction with Colin Bradley to grow our potatoes.

We wanted to buy locally produced potatoes but our first priority was quality and Fylde Fresh and Fabulous delivered! I didn’t want to take any risks and recently inspected the crops grown especially for us.

we can further assure our customers that we serve the highest quality of fish at all times, organically raised for years in the deep, calm, stress-less depths of the icelandic waters. with many localy caught species also on our menu. we are committed to the continuing use of sustainable, quality produce.

Richarson's Heritage
Welcome to Richardson’s Fish Bar. Whilst your meal is being freshly prepared for you, why not take a minute to digest some of the Richardson’s family fishing history.

My family first became involved in the Fleetwood fishing industry in the early 1920’s with my Great Grandfather Thomas Collinson and his brothers, my great uncles, who were all local fishermen, sailing regularly onboard Fleetwood Trawlers.

Keeping within the fishing industry, my Grandfather, William Richardson followed a different route, becoming chief engineer for a well known fishing company J. Marr & Son working on renowned trawlers such as the Jacinta, Cornelia and Navena to name but a few. Their combined experience and advice led my father, William Richardson to embark on a career following in his father’s footsteps as an engineer for J. Marr & Son also having the opportunity to work onboard some great trawlers. In 1974 he was offered the chance to become involved in the fish merchant side of the industry and soon established his own successful business supplying fresh local fish throughout the country.

My father made sure I learned all things ‘fishy’ from a very young age, with me spending many a school holiday gaining hands on experience in the processing plant on Fleetwood Dock and at the retail markets throughout the North West. In 1993, after leaving school I began working full time in the family business. In 2002, when a well renowned fish and chip shop came onto the market we decided to expand our company and invest in the fish and chip sector, learning the fish and chip industry trade from scratch.

This shop proved very popular within the local community.

I saw another opportunity on Boxing Day, 2005 when another local shop closed its doors, this time it had to have a change of use and planning permission but I knew that all the hard work would be worth my time and effort as I saw the potential the site had. I wanted not only to continue offering quality fish and chips but knew Fleetwood would appreciate a restaurant too. Richardson’s Fish Bar opened its doors to the public in July 2006 receiving the Seafish Quality Award within 7 days! And we are celebrating continuing success, remaining dedicated to providing quality fish and chips to you all ……
as the saying goes.

These are not just any Fish & Chips; these are ... Richardson's Fish & Chips

Enjoy Chris
